Larry's Professional Experience: As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor he has provided private practice counseling for individuals, couples, and families. His primary focus has been depression, anxiety, anger, adjustment, and relational. Larry has also provided treatment and education for problems relating to stress, bereavement, spiritual, occupational, identity, and phase of life. Treatment models have been primarily adult psychotherapy, however, treatment has also been provided for children and adolescents experiencing depression or anxiety.
As a teaching pastor and counselor he has also led numerous support groups in the above areas as well as groups relating to family life and men's issues. He has conducted training groups and individual supervision equipping church leaders and counselors in helping skills, group dynamics, and interview skills, as well as seminars for stress and anger management. Larry has also worked in supportive roles for over 30 years for various churches providing pastoral based counseling, discipleship training and biblical training and support groups. He currently leads a men's bible study/discipleship group which has been ongoing for over 13 years. His heart for ministry at this time is discipleship training for individuals and small groups.
Larry's Personal Interests and Hobbies: Arts & crafts, gardening, hiking, swimming, writing, and kayaking.
Larry's Family. He is married for 35 years with two adult children,one grandchild, and one dog.
*LMHC. Licensed Mental Health Counselor. This credential is issued by the Florida Dept. of Health. It requires a master's degree from regionally accredited college or university, a post graduate two year professional internship under a state approved licensed counselor, and a state level exam administered by the state board of mental health counseling. This credential is actively reviewed by the Dept. of Health and requires professional continuing education and recertification every two years.
