Persistent anxiety takes its toll on your emotions, and it affects your body as well.  In fact, those feelings of anxiety set off a trail of physical responses—such as chest pain and rapid heartbeat.

Frequently, the physical symptoms of persistent anxiety, such as palpitations or stomach pain, are what prompt many people to visit their doctor.  Once a physical disease is ruled out, persistent anxiety may be suspected.
