  1. Read Psalm 101
  1. What was David’s primary goal in life?  What are specific character qualities David wanted for his life?
  1. What character quality was he looking for in his associates?  Why?  What was at stake?
  1. What warning signs tipped him off to the types of men he did not want to hang with?
  1. What role did faithful men play in David’s life (verse 6)?
  1. At the end of the psalm, what was David’s conclusion about who he would allow to influence him?

  ON A DEEPER LEVEL 

  1. How would you describe your closest friends today?  How do their priorities line up with your own?  How do you know that a friend is influencing you negatively?
  1. In what specific ways are your friends ministering to you these days?
  1. Which particular character quality described in Psalm 101 inspire you personally?  Why?
  1. What specific indicators tell you that you need to break away from a friend or friends and find some new ones?  What steps do you need to take to make the break?
  1. What character qualities make you a positive influence on your friends?  What about you is rubbing off on them?
  1. Who in your group of influence is influencing you the most?  Which of their qualities are you absorbing?
